I am so excited to share Allison & Collin’s Big Spring Farm wedding that took place in Lexington,VA at the end of October of this year. Ryan & I have been dying to shoot a wedding there as it is an absolute dream and one of the most gorgeous-countryside venues in Virginia.
Allison & Collin were so much fun to work with and we had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session months before the wedding in Williamsburg, Va. It was a nice chance for us to get to know the both of them a little better and if you haven’t heard us lecture the importance of an engagement session before, I will repeat it again. This is the best chance you will have to feel comfortable in front of a camera, get to know Ryan and I before the wedding, and it is really good for us to get to know you all as well. An engagement session is HIGHLY recommended and will make you more relaxed on the wedding day.
But this blog post is not about lecturing the importance of an engagement session, it is to share this amazing wedding that we were lucky enough to witness & photograph. I have never been so welcomed by a family such as Collin & Allison’s. We shared many laughs and even the love for LSU sports!
The intimate ceremony took place on the edge of a beautiful pond surrounded by the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains with Large white pumpkins filled with flowers lining the aisle leading to a rustic arbor with flowy white fabric. It was literally the wedding guests, the beautiful farm, and the mountains.. nothing else in the world mattered at that particular moment and it was so special. One of Allison’s close family friends officiated the ceremony which was so special and important to the both of them. Allison was the epitome of style. Her wedding gown was a light blush color and she was adorned with the most gorgeous statement necklace that I have ever seen. Collin was nothing short of dapper in his fitted suit! They both looked amazing! After the ceremony, guests made their way to the barn to enjoy cocktails and appetizers by the very talented team of Full Circle Catering.
The reception space is the most amazing barn that you can ever imagine.. I really cannot even call it a barn as it was so much more. From the twinkling Italian string lighting to the beautifully dressed farm tables adorned with white pumpkins and lush flowers, the details were impeccably thought out and executed by the amazing Kelly Harrison of The Wedding Rabbit! Kelly & Tyler were so much fun to work with. They had everything so organized and made all of the wedding vendors feel so comfortable! Hats off to you two for being some of the best wedding planners we have ever worked with!
As the guests danced the night away and enjoyed the ice cream sundae bar, Ryan and I were lucky enough to slip away with the bride and groom for some fun sparkler night shots!
We are so sad that the wedding came to an end, but we cannot wait to see Allison & Collin again! We are so happy to call you both friends! Congratulations you two and we hope that you have the best future together!
