We love when couples give us the opportunity to do research in their area and find amazing locations for photo shoots. With this engagement shoot, we selected two locations- one being the American Tobacco Campus Historic District and the other being Historic Oak View Park.
Sarah and Derek were a blast to work with. We started the day at the American Tobacco Campus where we were able to capture their love for one another in many different locations. The Campus has a very urban feel and only a hop, skip, and jump away from Raleigh being located in the city of Durham. When we arrived at the campus, we immediately fell in love with the area. An ice skating rink in the middle of the park (which we will return to do more engagement shoots), an awesome “Lucky Strike” smoke stack (perfect for the photo shoot), and some other really interesting locations for their session.
Our next stop was Historic Oak View Park. We really didn’t realize how much of a gem this place is. It is very rustic/country with its very own cotton field and several rustic buildings and barns. We were so thrilled to be able to photograph in two totally different locations with two totally different styles. I think that Sarah and Derek were also thrilled as well.
We are so excited to photograph Sarah and Derek’s upcoming wedding in June of 2014 at River Landing in Wallace, NC!
