We are so excited to have some down time and what better time to get back on the blog train than with Catherine & Daniel’s wedding that took place at Barren Ridge Vineyards in Fishersville, VA.
Ryan and I are so lucky that we get to call the Outer Banks home but we are equally lucky that we get to spend a percentage of our time in the town where we grew up visiting family and photographing awesome couples. Many of you probably don’t know where it is on the map or have never heard of Fishersville Virginia, but it is the town in which I grew up, went to high school, worked my first job, and met my husband. It is so near and dear to my heart, so when Catherine contacted us about her wedding taking place at Barren Ridge Vineyards, we were sold.
Barren Ridge Vineyards is tucked away down a winding road with immaculate views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountain range. The rolling hills that cascade around the tasting room and venue are filled with the abundance of grape vines and you feel nothing but peace of mind being present on the secluded property. In all honesty, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to have your wedding take place where such beauty resides. The aroma of wine and musky wood barrels fill the air and in your mind, you are instantly swept away to Tuscany. The crazy part is that these gorgeous places for weddings exist all over and are located in places where you would least expect them to be.
Catherine and Daniel are not from Fishersville, but they found this beautiful location and decided it was amazing enough to have their wedding and invite their guests from all over the world. Catherine rented out the beautifully renovated main house at Gaie Lea in Staunton, Virginia where she was able to relax with her family & bridesmaids before the wedding. The Gaie Lea house is also used for weddings in the Staunton, VA area and it too is an absolute gorgeous location for a wedding with onsite accommodations.
The ceremony was very heartfelt and took place on the back of the venue overlooking the vineyard. Catherine looked stunning in her form fitting mermaid lace gown and Daniel was very dapper in his tailored suit. After some wining and dining, we were able to capture the beautiful sunset with the bride & groom which turned out to be more stunning than you could ever imagine. For the rest of the evening and into the night, guests spent their time dancing the night away. Not a single person was witnessed sitting down. The dance floor was packed and the party was lit!
We are so lucky to get to photograph such amazing people and be a part of their special day! We hope to photograph again very soon at the lovely Barren Ridge Vineyards.
