We had such a great time with Rachel and Travis in Highland County, Virginia for their engagement session! We started things off at a remote location with a real swinging bridge that goes over the Cowpasture River. The views at this location were incredible and it’s always fun shooting in new areas! Travis did an exceptional job guiding us through all of the backroads to each new location.
The next spot we stopped was Fort Lewis Lodge, this was a place that neither of us had heard of. The lodge boasts several cabins that can be rented along with a silo that has been turned into a guest house! We both added this to our list of places to come back to! This was another perfect location and honestly we could have done the entire session there. The lodge has a beautiful pond, access to trails and rivers, and lush landscaping making every corner the perfect photo-opp.
As we were headed back through Monterey, Viginia we stopped by an open field full of cows with the most perfect view of the mountains. We managed to snag a few pictures just as the sun slipped behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. The colors in the clouds couldn’t have been any better!
We had a blast working with these two and can’t wait for their wedding this summer at Barren Ridge Vineyards!!
