Sara & Jessiah | Outer Banks Wedding Photography | Duck, NC

As I am wrapped in a blanket and sipping on coffee, I am dreaming of warmer weather and sunshine.. most of all, I am dreaming of wedding season to start!  We are so privileged to reside in such a unique area and share our Outer Banks Wedding Photography.  We are also privileged to photograph such amazing couples and today on the blog, we are happy to share Sara & Jessiah’s Outer Banks Wedding!

I met Sara last winter as she was looking for an internship here on the Outer Banks.  Shortly after starting her internship with me, she became engaged to the love of her life, Jessiah!  The wedding planning started and we were so happy when they approached us about shooting their gorgeous wedding!  Sara & Jessiah are all about fun and they wanted their wedding to reflect their amazing personalities.  They chose Emmanuel Lutheran Church for the ceremony location and their family’s sound front home for the reception location.  This home was also the same site as her sister’s wedding a few years ago, so it was a no brainer for Sara & Jessiah to choose this as their location as well.

We arrived early in the afternoon to start capturing getting-ready moments at the home.  Sara was all smiles as she sat by the window awaiting the moment when she would see Jessiah for the first time as she walked down the aisle.  Bridget Groce with Glimmer Hair & Makeup did a fantastic job on Sara’s hair and makeup! She was just stunning!  As Sara stepped into her bridal gown with the help of her bridesmaids & mom, she was glowing! The girls were so beautiful in their Aqua colored dresses and they were hilarious as they sang in unison “Going to the Chapel & We’re Gonna get married”.  It was a site to be seen.. Sara in the middle of a circle dancing as the girls sang to her.. Definitely something you would read about in a book.  It was so much fun being there and being surrounded by so many amazing people.

When we arrived to the church, Jessiah was anxiously waiting to see his bride.  The couple chose to partake in a “first-touch/prayer” before the ceremony started. We situated them at a doorway in the church and they held hands without seeing each other and then prayed together.  It was an amazing moment to witness and an absolute beautiful way to start a marriage together.  After tears were shed, Jessiah went to take his place at the alter and Sara’s mom entered with some of Sara’s favorite Graeter’s Ice Cream to enjoy before walking down the aisle.. Also one of the most adorable moments of all time.

Guests enjoyed piano music provided by the amazing Matty Hitchcock and stunning flowers that were arranged by a very talented family friend.  Sara took her father’s arm as he escorted her down the aisle towards her groom.  Jessiah was so excited to see her… You could see the excitement in both of their faces.  The pastor of their home church officiated such a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony.  After saying their I-do’s, we had some fun with the family & bridal party as we captured some amazing moments that they will cherish forever.  We were able to have a little time with the couple to take some photos at the beach in Duck, NC and then finish with some photos on the sound side! They are such stunning couple and we cannot get over the height difference.  Sara is about 5’4 and Jessiah is 6’7!

The reception was amazing!  Metro Rentals provided the Tent, linens, tables & chairs.  The bride designed her own decor consisting of glittery gold anchors to bring in a nautical feel, gorgeous coral & pink roses, and touches of aqua and gold.  Aqua and Pink paper lanterns added a special touch to the ceiling of the tent as the were clustered meticulously throughout the reception space. Guests enjoyed music provided by DJ Parker Bradley while dancing the night away on the custom dance floor constructed by Jessiah’s own company, The Captain Entertainment.  The food was to die for and graciously prepared by one of our favorite restaurants, Food Dudes Kitchen! I still cannot get over how amazing the food tasted! After guests enjoyed dinner, the couple cut into their gorgeous wedding cake provided by the very talented, Hibou Pastries.

Thank goodness that the rain held out long enough for us to capture some beautiful night/evening photos on the dock leading out to the sound.  Even though the rain started to pour later in the evening, the party continued and guests were enjoying their time on the dance floor!  We had such a great time at Sara & Jessiah’s Outer Banks Wedding! A special Thank You goes out to the both of them for letting us be a part of their special day! We are so happy for the two of you and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both!
